Self control fruits of the spirit. Fat GB seem to lack it
by JohnR1975 infruits of the spirit would surely be required to be gb members?
yet some of them seem to lack self control when it comes to eating.
br herd, mark sanderson and br jackson in these are all very obese.. if they travel to poor places wearing their rolex watches and gold pinky rings the brothers there will surely wonder why they are so fat.. there are many scriptures talking about not being greedy and not gluttonous for food.. if they were really chosen by god as his channel on earth then why can’t they show the fruits of the spirit and show self control when it comes to being gluttonous?.

Question for JW's: Is Jesus the Mediator of Your Prayers ?
by Sea Breeze inpraying to god “through the son jesus” has nothing to do with christ as mediator.. do jw's even know what a mediator does?.
i am in the insurance restoration construction business and have been in mediation many times when a policy holder sues an insurance company for not paying everything they believe is due them under the terms of their policy for property damage.. i am brought in as a technical expert.. in mediation, the plaintiff (policy holder) and the defendant (insurance company) are placed in separate rooms, they do not talk to each other.
they are separated because the dispute has alienated the one from the other.

He was the mediator of the new covenant with spiritual Israel.
Rattigan,
That isn't what scripture says is it? Scriptures says: "There is ONE mediator between God and men, a man Christ Jesus". "He is the Mediator of the New Covenant" - Hebrews 9: 15
Consider:
1. There are zero NT scriptures that explain how a person can get their sins forgiven OUTSIDE the new covenant.2. The new covenant is "for the forgiveness of sins" for "many" not few. (See Mt. 26: 27-27)
3. The message of the Apostles and the Christian church is to be reconciled with God (2 Cor. 5: 18-19) Once you are reconciled to God, you are justified, meaning you have no sin debt.
4. The two-tier Salvation WT tries to sell was unknown to the apostles.5. If anyone preaches a different message than the apostles, they are twice cursed. (See Gal. 1: 8-9)
6. Once we are justified, we have peace with God and are saved from his wrath (Romans 5: 1& 9)
7. Salvation is available to "whosoever" not limited. (John 3: 16, Acts 2: 21, Luke 112: 8, Romans 10: 13)
8. Jesus 3 times told Nicodemus that a person MUST be born again. When we are born again we get a new spirit, one that is sinless and can then fellowship with God. The Spirit of Christ then occupies the believers body (the true temple of God) See Col. 1: 26-27 & 2 Cor. 6: 16
The Watchtower denies every one of these points related to Salvation.
"Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his." - Romans 8: 9

Jesus is the priest that... mediates prayers for us.
But that is not the sense specified in scripture, is it? No. "He is the Mediator of the New Covenant" - Hebrews 9: 15
This is the definition the Lord wants us to know.
I already illustrated what a mediator is by my own first hand experience in my opening post. Your description diminishes Jesus to an errand boy in my estimation.
Websters 1828 says this:
MEDIA'TOR, noun One that interposes between parties at variance for the purpose of reconciling them.
1. By way of eminence, Christ is the mediator the divine intercessor through whom sinners may be reconciled to an offended God. Tim.2.
Reconciliation is achieved only through the blood covering, the one JW's reject each Satanic version of the Lords supper.
Mt. 26: 26-28 : Jesus took bread, blessed it and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take and eat. This is My body.” Then He took the cup, and after He gave thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.@joey jojo
"He makes the sun rise on both the evil and the good and sends rain on both the righteous and the unrighteous." Matt 5:45
If all you are looking for is 70-80 years of sunshine and rain.... you are all good.

LIE, noun
1. A criminal falsehood; a falsehood uttered for the purpose of deception; an intentional violation of truth.
Watchtower seems to say that it is OK to lie as long as it is not "malicious". Of course, the liar gets to decide if he is malicious or not.

What is the Craziest Thing You Are Aware Of Someone Being Disfellowshipped For?
by Sea Breeze ini knew a lady who was disfellowshipped for 20 years for smoking.
she finally went back to the kh and since they couldn't find her paperwork, (all the former elders were dead) she was allowed back in without reinstatement.
no one even remembered her.

No doubt there is a lot of deviance. But, there is a framework, we have courts to work out grievances and a Congress to enact laws. Not perfect by any means. But, better that anarchy or might might makes right scenarios.

Let no-one misunderstand that the sole purpose of the army is the protection of the state ... not its citizens.
Can't really agree with that. Soldiers in the U.S. military swear an oath to support and defend the Constitution (which includes amendments and the Bill of Rights) against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Thoughts on Jesus' Resurrection
by Perry ini think that in our various discussions about life after the wt, we many times forget about the cornerstone of christian life - the resurrection.
the implications of the existence a man who holds the power of life and death is manifold.
it makes discussions about the existence of god obsolete.. for all of scientists' accomplishments they have never been able to make even one amobea come alive from non-life.

I have a question: Since JW's teach that there was no fleshly resurrection of Jesus, do they fit this biblical description of a deceiver and anti-Christ?
For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. (2 John 1:7 NKJV)
Note: The antichrist is NOT one person, but is a composite group, a small band of foot step followers of those who reject and oppose Jesus Christ' bodily resurrection.
